We all have that special corner in our homes, affectionately known as the “fishing gear graveyard,” where old rods, reels, lures, fly boxes, and even waders gather dust, waiting for a day that never seems to come. I’m guilty of it too — I’ve got a treasure trove of flies I’ve tied myself, along with forgotten fly boxes and fishing bags that have been sidelined as I’ve upgraded my gear.
But here’s the good news: you can breathe new life into these neglected items by donating them to New Mexico Trout for the upcoming Used Equipment Sale at the Conclave on March 1, 2024! Your contributions will not only help fellow anglers find great gear but will also support our mission and promote environmental stewardship within our community.
So, let’s rally together and check those closets, storage sheds, and garages for any old equipment just waiting to be put back to good use. Remember, every donation, big or small, plays a vital role in preserving the joy of trout fishing in New Mexico — let’s make this event a fantastic celebration of our love for the sport. The proceeds from all sales will go to NMT to fund the educational, conservation, scholarships and other activities to benefit trout fishing in New Mexico.
